FLOATATION TANKS IN BOULDER, COLORADO
ABOUT ISOLATE FLOAT TANKS
Isolate Flotation Center was founded by Ben Gleason in 2012. Our staff at Isolate have over 20 years combined experience in the float industry.
Floating is a scientific approach to relaxation, productivity, and creativity.
We are devoted to providing a luxurious space for people to explore the infinite possibilities of floating. Our passion for floating and its vast therapeutic potential to help people explore the human experience makes us Boulder’s finest public float center. Our float tanks are spacious, private and silent so no distractions can arise. Each sensory deprivation tank is in it’s own room, complete with it’s own shower, toilet and sink. Our staff is friendly, knowledgeable and we LOVE to talk about floating! Isolate is the perfect place for everyone from first-time floaters looking to “dip their toes in the salt water” to hard core float enthusiasts looking to get fully submersed in the float experience. We can’t wait to get you in a float tank and we can’t wait to see the look of bliss on your face when you get out!
HOW DOES FLOTATION THERAPY WORK?
The flotation tank is a large, enclosed, Epsom salt water bath that minimizes sensory input to the brain. The water is ten inches deep with about 1,000 pounds of Epsom salt dissolved into it. This creates such buoyant water that anyone can float effortlessly. The temperature of the environment is neutral, neither warm nor cold. The tank is wonderfully dark and quiet.
Also referred to as an ‘isolation tank,’ or ‘sensory deprivation tank,’ our four float tanks in Boulder allow the floater to have a unique and intimate experience of themselves. The float tank gives your body, mind and spirit an environment to heal and rejuvenate unlike any other. Flotation therapy has been shown to facilitate powerful healing, deep relaxation, pain relief, self improvement and countless other benefits.
Floating in an environment free of stress and distractions triggers endorphin release in the brain which has been shown to dramatically reduce stress levels.
The float tank allows the body to maintain it’s internal homeostasis. When given an environment to operate freely the body is very effective at healing itself.
Flotation therapy allows for deep relaxation and focused attention, which are the two most important elements for motivating oneself to accomplish specific goals and be free of disempowering beliefs.
FREE YOUR MIND
Stress is the number one cause of disease. When we are stressed our bodies produce chemicals that cause pain and tension that we carry with us throughout our lives. This tension is the root of all ailments from cancer to depression. When the mind is relaxed, the body is relaxed. When the body is relaxed it is very effective at realigning with its optimum state of health. With regular use the float tank you can bring your being into total alignment of mind, body and spirit.
“My float was transcendent. I was timeless and weightless and fearless…”

Floating’s Effects on High Blood Pressure
The Importance of Magnesium
Each of our four float tanks are filled with over 1,000 pounds of Epsom salt, or Magnesium Sulfate.
Magnesium’s presence in every one of our body’s cells is essential, as it’s responsible for over 300 different actions in the body. Imbalances in magnesium often result in unwanted neuromuscular, cardiac or nervous disorders. Our modern diet and pressured lifestyles have made magnesium drastically less abundant in our bodies.
The skin being the largest organ of the body, while inside a float tank, your body can benefit from transdermal magnesium. Prolonged soaking in Epsom salts increases magnesium concentrations in the blood.
