Pain Relief
The float tank allows the body to maintain it’s internal homeostasis. When given an environment to operate freely the body is very effective at healing itself.

Self Improvement
Flotation therapy allows for deep relaxation and focused attention, which are the two most important elements for motivating oneself to accomplish specific goals and be free of disempowering beliefs.

Floating allows the mind a chance to organize itself and the body a chance to heal itself.

The flotation tank is a large, enclosed, salt water bath that minimizes sensory input to the brain. Also referred to as an ‘isolation tank,’ the tank allows the floater to have a unique and intimate experience of themselves. The float tank provides an environment to heal and rejuvenate unlike any other. Flotation therapy has been shown to facilitate powerful healing, deep relaxation, pain relief, self improvement and countless other benefits.

Free your mind, heal your body

Stress is the number one cause of disease. When we are stressed our bodies produce chemicals that cause pain and tension that we carry with us throughout our lives. This tension is the root of all ailments from cancer to depression. When the mind is relaxed, the body is relaxed. When the body is relaxed, it is very effective at realigning with its optimum state of health. With regular use, the float tank you can help you bring yourself into alignment of mind, body and spirit.

Common benefits you may experience from floating:

  1. Promotes Connection with Self: When you turn the tank lights off and allow your mind and body to drift into deep relaxation, you can often feel connected with your body. This benefit continues well after exiting the float tank.
  2. Reduce Pain and Inflammation: Flotation Therapy can provide relief from pain from inflammation by reducing the strain on the body. The water is about 10″ deep with over 1,000 pounds of Epsom salt. This creates such positively buoyant water that anyone can float effortlessly. It is the closest thing to no gravity we will experience. An established remedy to reduce swelling is taking magnesium as a supplement. It’s important to remember that the Epsom salt in float tanks are Magnesium Sulfate.
  3. Reduce Stress: Our always rushed, always busy culture leaves little time for peace and quiet. We are chronically over-stimulated. It is already difficult to devote time and space for self-care! The float tank is a large, enclosed salt water bath designed to minimize sensory input to the brain. It allows the user deep relaxation in an almost weightless environment. Your body needs to spend very little energy and everything slows down. There is no sense of time and meditation happens effortlessly. It gives your body a chance to heal and the mind a chance to organize itself.
  4. Lower Blood Pressure: Blood pressure is closely related to stress levels. In addition to the relaxation, when your body is relieved from the burden of gravity your blood vessels can fully dilate, which reduces blood pressure and increases blood flow.
  5. Creative Stimulation: A lot of regular clients will use their float sessions to accelerate their process of creativity. Artists, musicians, writers, students, and tech-minded people will use the float tank as a tool for creative problem-solving.
  6. Distraction Free: It is just your body, mind, and spirit in the float tank. It provides you with space for you and just you.

About Our Tanks

One of the Samadhi Tank Rooms

Samadhi tanks are the classic, traditional float tank. We have outfitted our Samadhi tanks with an additional heat button that the client controls. The base temperature is 94 degrees, which is skin temperature. Floating in our Samadhi tanks is still a neutral sensory deprivation experience, but some people simply run cold in their everyday life due to circulation concerns. If this sounds like you, a Samadhi tank may be the best temperature fit.

One of the Pro Float Cabin Float Rooms

Pro Float Cabins are a significantly larger tank style. People choose the Pro Float Cabins because they enjoy the extra space, with similar footprint to the Samadhi, Pro Floats are 2″ wider and 6″ longer, but twice as tall. You can fully stand up in a Pro Float Cabin, instead of ducking down into a Samadhi.

Clients do develop a personal preference between these two tank styles and we suggest trying out both to find out which you like best!

Things to Keep in Mind

All inclusive and private rooms
At Isolate, we provide everything that you will need for your float. If you are a contact wearer, please bring your own case and solution or glasses to your session. Each float suite is totally private and has its own shower, toilet, and sink. You do not need to bring a bathing suit.

Don’t drink too much water prior to your session
Float sessions are 60, 90, or 120 minutes in length. Taking this into account, pay attention to your water intake prior to your float. We suggest not drinking a lot of liquids prior to floating. Your session puts you into “Rest and Digest” mode. Although you control your float and can get in and out as you wish, it can be somewhat cumbersome to continually exit the tank to use the restroom.

We are here to help
Feel free to let your float facilitator know any concerns you may have. We will walk you through your float room and where everything is located before your first float. We have suggestions for common comfortable floating positions. Finding your comfortable position may take several minutes but once you do, it is bliss!

Schedule your float around your hair and skin regimes
If you have dyed, permed, deep conditioned, or used a wax product on your hair within the past 14 days, we will have to reschedule your float. Same goes for spray tans. This precaution is for both you and our water quality and filtration system. These contaminates leave chemical residue and are very hard to filter out of our tank water. By having this grace period, we can ensure the high quality of our float tank solution. We also suggest avoiding shaving for 24-hours prior to your session as shaving is a micro-abrasion on the skin.

We also have Massage Therapists on Location
Our Massage Therapists on site, including Optimal Function and Wellness and Todd Ackerman, CNMT, specialize in Neuromuscular Therapy, Myofascial Release, Therapeutic Thai Massage, Sports Massage, Integrated Positional Therapy, Deep Tissue, and Cupping. Let us know if you are also receiving body work on site and we will provide you with a robe for between services.

Our Massage Therapists do their own scheduling and are not available for walk-in appointments.
